There was significant surface rust throughout most of the roof and the fasteners that were holding the panels together were failing.  The customer could not afford continued disruption to their operations or damage to its products and a roof coating was not a cost-effective option.

The metal panels were failing.

Specialized "tapered" insulation was placed between the metal flutes. Rigid hardboad was installed on top.

The reinforced TPO membrane sheets are secured to the roof at the structural purlins.

The membrance sheets are fused together using robotic technology at 1100° F.

New roof: The new 60-mil reinforced TPO roof assembly from Firestone was installed while the customer was operational.  Nightly “tie-offs” were performed to ensure that materials would not be damaged as the project progressed. The membrane sheets are 6 feet wide and fastened into the purlins for maximum wind resistance. The heat-welded system is backed by a 15-year labor and material warranty from the manufacturer.
